Account Data: When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We do not collect names or phone numbers during account creation.

Lead Submissions: If you submit a request for a legal assessment, we collect your name, phone number, email, urgency level, and the calculated net pool/split data. This data is emailed to our internal team to facilitate the referral.
Authentication Data: To secure your account, we generate and temporarily store a 6-digit Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) code. This code expires within 10 minutes.
Geolocation Data: We use third-party services (ip-api.com) to determine your country based on your IP address solely for the purpose of suggesting the correct regional calculator (e.g., AU vs. US). We do not store your precise geographic location.
Usage Data: We automatically collect standard internet log information, including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, using Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used.
We use your data to:
Legal Referrals: If you submit a lead form, your contact information and calculation summary may be shared with independent legal practitioners in our network to facilitate your requested assessment.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to third parties.
We implement commercially reasonable security measures, including bcrypt password hashing, MFA, and secure database configurations, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your Account Data for as long as your account is active. Calculation data is retained until you delete the file or your account. MFA codes are automatically purged after 10 minutes. Session tokens expire after 30 days.

Under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth), property settlements across Australia are governed by Sections 79 and 90SF. The court follows a four-step process to determine a fair division of the asset pool:
All assets, liabilities, and superannuation interests are identified and valued at current market value. This includes real estate, vehicles, bank accounts, investments, business interests, and superannuation.
The court examines financial contributions (income, inheritances, asset purchases) and non-financial contributions (homemaker duties, parenting, renovations) made by each party during the relationship.
Factors such as age, health, income-earning capacity, care of children, and the financial resources available to each party are weighed to adjust the percentage split.
The final step is a discretionary check: is the proposed division just and equitable in all the circumstances? This is not a mathematical formula — it requires legal judgment.
